Properes activitats i últimes notices de Grup21, Música contemporània sense frontères:

Masterclasse - dimarts el 13 de desembre al Conservatori del Liceu a les 15h. Grup21 ofereix perspectives estimulants sobre l'obra central del concert del concert dia seguënt: Flautando de Jorge Liderman, un concert de cambra per a flauta i conjunt instrumental. Veniu per entrar en la ment del compositor i la dels mateixos intèrprets en el seu procèss d'assimilació d'una nova obra en preparació per l'enregistrament i el concert el dia seguënt!

Proper concert - dimecres el 14 de desembre al Conservatori del Liceu a les 20h.
El flauta solista serà en Peter Bacchus, director artístic de Grup21, i el director convidat serà en Xavier Pagès.
Obres de Carlos Franzetti (estrena per l'estat), Israel David Martinez, Benjamin Davies (estrena absoluta), i Jorge Liderman. Per informació: Grup21 Conservatori del Liceu

Últimes noticies - Grup21 enregistra per CD el concert de cambra Flautando (2004) de Jorge Liderman, escrit pel flautista Peter Bacchus. Flautando és el primer concert de cambra escrit per la formació, els altres són: Chamber Concerto (2006) d'Anthony Newman, Brightness in the Dark (2007) de Christiann De Jong, Piccolo Concerto (2008) d'Agustí Charles, i Caprichos No. 7 (2008) de LLeonard Balada.

- Grup21 ja té enregistrat un CD de música electroacústica amb conjunt instrumental, pendent edició, amv obres de Joao Pedro Oliveira, Josep Maria Guix, Andrés Lewin-Richter, Gabriel Brincic.

Coming events and latest news of Grup21, Contemporary music without borders:

March 25th - In the 2nd annual convention of the Asociación de Flautistas de España three recent compositions of mine will be played. I will explain and perform Fantasy on Syrinx, and Fantasy on the Allemande of the Bach Partita for solo flute. Both of these pieces are elaborate improvisations that I finally wrote down on paper. The Orquestra de Flautes de Barcelona will also perform my Serenade for flute soloist and ensemble. In addition, I will perform the Lizamander for flute and and MaxMSP, an exciting interactive piece for flute and computer by Russell Pinkston.

I will also be talking about and performing these fantasies on Syrinx and the Allemande at the NFA convention in Las Vegas in August, on Thursday August 9th. They will be published by Falls House Press.

June 4th - I participate in a concert of flute quartet throughout the Fundació de Música Contemporània with pieces by Anthony Newman, Yamauchi, my own Flute Variations for solo flute (Dinsic Publicacions), and other composers.

In addition to these concerts, more news and recent positions:

- Director of the exciting new youth orchestra Riborquestra, inspired in "El Sistema". This inspiring project is taking place in a multi-cultural barrio of Barcelona and has significant support of the Rothschild Foundation in Switzerland. We are projecting some sessions together with the great Gustavo Dudamel when he comes to Barcelona with the Orquesta Simón Bolivar Venezuela. How exciting!

- Director of choirs of retired people for the city of Barcelona. This is also an inspiring project to be involved in. We are in the process of creating a dignified program of choral singing for retired people for the central district of Barcelona, l'Eixample.

- Grup21 recently recorded Flautando, a chamber concerto for flute soloist and ensemble which was written for me and Grup21 by the late Jorge Liderman.
We will be posting some of that soon and are working towards a complete CD of all the different chamber concertos written for each instrument of Grup21.

- A new CD of Grup21 will be soon be released with repertory for instrumental ensemble and electronics, conducted by myself.

- The youth orchestra, Riborquestra and the choirs of retired people in Barcelona are two branches of the focus of bringing music into people's lives as an instrument of social transformation and helping them live healthier and happier lives. It is gratifying to have an active role in this.

- Also at the NFA convention in Las Vegas, Imani Winds will premiere Hardwood by composer Lansing Mcloskey. This work has been created through the JWQP (Joint Wind Quintet Project), an historic collaboration between the NFA, the International Horn Society, the International Double Reed Society and the International Clarinet Association to come together and create new works for the chamber combination which unites us, the wind quintet. I have been one of the active forces behind this from the beginning and I am excited to have it come to fruition for the first time.

- Grup21 is currently editing an exciting new CD of electronic music with instrumental ensemble with works by Joao Pedro Oliveira, Josep Maria Guix, Andrés Lewin-Richter and Gabriel Brncic. We will announce it's release soon!

- The collection of new repertory written for Grup21 is being published by Dinsic Publicacions in the Grup XXI Collection and the Jaume Vilà.
